Home repair in every part of Las Cruces
Willie's Home Repair was founded in Las Cruces over 30 years ago and still works all over the city - flat-roof leaks and coatings, stucco, drywall, plumbing, water heaters, doors, carpentry and painting. Estimates are free and done in person.
What Las Cruces homes have to deal with
Flat roofs, parapets and stucco
A big share of Las Cruces houses have flat or low-slope roofs behind stucco parapet walls, in the Pueblo Revival and Territorial styles the Mesilla Valley is known for. They look right here and handle the sun well - but the roof coating, the parapet caps and the joint where roof meets wall need keeping up, because that's where water gets in.
High-desert sun and summer storms
At close to 4,000 feet, with the Organ Mountains on the east side of town, Las Cruces gets strong sun most days of the year and much of its rain in a few months of summer monsoon storms, plus gusty spring winds that carry dust. Paint chalks and fades, wood trim dries and splits, and a roof that was fine all spring can leak in the first July downpour.
Older neighborhoods near downtown
The Mesquite and Alameda-Depot historic districts and the streets around downtown have some of the city's oldest houses. Anything built before 1978 may have lead paint under the newer coats, which changes how sanding and scraping has to be done.

Las Cruces home repair questions
Do you work in every part of Las Cruces?
Yes - from the neighborhoods around downtown and NMSU out to the East Mesa, Sonoma Ranch and Picacho Hills.
Do you repair and recoat flat roofs in Las Cruces?
Yes. Leaks are found and repaired, then the roof is recoated in silicone or white elastomeric, including the parapet walls. If the leak already stained a ceiling, that gets fixed too.
My house was built before 1978. What should I know?
Homes from before 1978 may have lead-based paint under newer coats. Federal EPA rules govern how anyone paid to sand, scrape or cut into those surfaces must contain and clean up the work. Mention the age of the house when you call.
Do you charge to come out for an estimate?
No. Estimates are free - Willie looks at the job in person and gives you a price before any work starts.
